ABLE Accounts and Funding for College

“How will we pay for college and personal care?”

“Can I use a 529 account to pay for personal care attendant services?”

These are just a few of the questions that I get from from the families of students with physical disabilities and health conditions. I understand who confusing finding the answers to these questions can be! An ABLE Account is a tax-advantaged savings accounts for individuals with disabilities and their families. An ABLE account could be helpful in saving for college and beyond. I sat down with Alexandra Baig of Companions on Your Journey to discuss ABLE Accounts. We covered:

  • What is an ABLE Account?
  • How can they help students with disabilities?
  • How can you get an ABLE Account?
  • What can the funds in the ABLE Account be used for?

I learned so much during our conversation. I hope you will too! If you need support preparing your student with a physical disability and/or health condition, contact me
