Accessible College has joined forces with Lighthouse Guidance and Ed Redefined to bring you the “College Success: Physical Disabilities, Chronic Health & Mental Health” Facebook Group!
This group is designed to be a resource for:
- Students with physical disabilities, chronic health conditions, and mental health issues
- Families
- Professional members such as: educators, consultants, and healthcare professionals who are working to support students in:
- Navigating the college process
- Requesting and utilizing accommodations
- Ensuring ongoing support for college success
Examples of Mental Health Conditions:
Bipolar, generalized anxiety disorder, schizophrenia, depression.
Examples of Chronic Health Conditions:
Crohn’s disease, seizure disorders, chronic fatigue syndrome, ehlers-danlos syndrome, eating disorders, POTS, auto-immune diseases, drug and alcohol addiction, etc.
Examples of Physical Disabilities:
Spinal muscular atrophy, cerebral palsy, para/quadriplegia, etc.
